This is a something that I would never have thought of (I could not have said definitely that there even was an Aboriginal flag, for instance), but obviously signifies a lot to the indigenous peoples of Aus/NZ. It's clearly a symbolic gesture and doesn't mean that there isn't plenty of work still to do, but I choose to regard it as hopeful, and I hope that indigenous peoples across the globe will receive both more rights and more understanding.
