In the second episode of In The Red Corner, we look back at Trump's rise in U.S. politics, and the role the UFC played in making his MAGA ideology a reality.
I guess Bob Arum was partially right after all these years. A lot of the UFC fanbase and fighters are like skin heads. So very sad. I remember the times when fighters wore nicely designed Pride Month t shirts during open workouts. I was happy fighters like Amanda Nunes got Modelo commercials. All that is gone now.
Agreed, Dean—the UFC has changed dramatically over the past ten years, which was when I first started reporting on the org for BE. I remember those "We Are All Fighters" t-shirts and how the UFC once pushed Amanda Nunes as a lesbian champion. Those days are long gone and we have the UFC's Trumpism to thank for that.
You and Elie are doing great work with this.. Can't wait for p3!
