I've lived in LA for 35 years. "Traditional fire season" is not June-July, as you say. It's September-October, when it's hot and dry and has not rained for 6 months. Due to climate change the season has now extended all the way to January.

Thanks for sharing that, Peter. Seems as though July still features some of the most destructive fires in recent memory, which is concerning given all the sports events set to take place during that time period over the next few years.

P.S: I hope you and your family are safe

Great piece. Think this will be a problem for the world cup in 2026 as well?

I surfed over to NOlympics & they seem like seasoned, mission-oriented, urban grassroot American 🇺🇸 activists. …

IMO, the Olympics worked for Seoul, South Korea 🇰🇷 … so it’s a dynamic geopolitical issue ruled by SATURN ⏰

America 🇺🇸 has Weather problems post-Carter, but I’m sure it can spit out another Elmo to buy sum state & turn it into the next Orfkinwellinstan. … But I’m gonna #BET me JUJU on the locals anyway!
