Today marks a significant milestone in our journey together - the one-year anniversary of Sports Politika!
It's been an incredible ride filled with challenges, triumphs, and above all, a steadfast commitment to our mission of covering the intersection of sports, power, and politics.
When I set out to launch Sports Politika a year ago, it was born out of a deep-seated belief in the power of journalism to hold the powerful to account and to shed light on the often overlooked connections between sports, governance, and societal issues. It was a decision fuelled by a passion for truth, transparency, and the pursuit of justice in an arena where these values are often obscured.
Over the past year, I've strived to bring you thought-provoking analysis, insightful commentary, and engaging stories that highlight the intricate web of relationships between sports, power, and politics.
For example:
These articles—and others from among the 120 published pieces over the past year—helped grow Sports Politika into a thriving community with thousands of subscribers.
My upstart media venture is currently being read in 103 countries and across 48 US states, the latter of which makes up 35% of my overall readership. Sports Politika has also developed significant followings in India and Pakistan, as well in Europe, Australia and parts of South America.
But none of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our incredible community of subscribers. Your belief in our mission, your engagement with our content, and your dedication to the values we uphold have been the driving force behind Sports Politika's success.
In a climate where digital journalism is facing unprecedented challenges and the future remains uncertain, your support has been our anchor, guiding us through turbulent waters and inspiring us to continue our work with renewed vigor.
As we celebrate this milestone, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you. Thank you for joining us on this journey, for lending your voices to the conversation, and for standing by us as we strive to make a difference in the world of sports journalism.
As a show of gratitude for your support, I am offering a special 25% discount on annual subscriptions. If you haven’t done so already, please consider becoming a paid subscriber today, as your support will allow me to continue to produce independent journalism that holds the powerful to account.
I have also made some significant changes to Sports Politika’s homepage layout. You may notice that SP now has a new logo and the homepage has been expanded to include dedicated sections for investigations, podcasts, and themed reporting.
Here's to another year of thought-provoking discussions, groundbreaking stories, and meaningful impact. Together, we'll continue to shine a light on the nexus of sports, power, and politics, holding the powerful to account and championing the values that define us.
Thank you for believing in Sports Politika.
