As someone of Jewish Heritage, it is always difficult to deal with family around this situation and point out the horrific violent apartheid state that Israel has imposed upon Palestinians, some members agree with the assessment but don't like calling it apartheid, others outright deny any wrongdoing by Israel and claim all criticism means I support Hamas. I would love to see the Palestinian national team qualify for United 2026 as a sign of resistance and strength for the Palestinian people, and show opposition to tyrants.

Thanks for continuing to publish incredible articles despite the circumstances, Karim. Football seems so insignificant compared to the genocide in Gaza but symbols matter and it would be incredible if Palestine could qualify.

Thank you for continuing to read my work. The fact that the Palestinian team still has a chance to qualify for WC 2026 despite the ongoing occupation, slaying of teammates, and the current destruction of Gaza is nothing short of a miracle. If they qualify, it would be the story of the tournament IMO. Here's hoping.
